We sincerely welcome you to the 5thAnnual Meeting of the Asian Society of Dermatopathology (ASD). We are proud to be able to hold this meeting here in Osaka, Japan.
Initially, this meeting should have been held in 2023, but due to the co-hosting with the Japanese Dermatopathology Society (JDS), it has been postponed to January 2024. ASD will be held for the fifth time this year, and as the pandemic subsides, we will hold a regular meeting for the first time in many years. We are confident that this will be a meaningful conference for participants accustomed to viewing content on the Web under the pandemic. We are pleased to welcome not only key ASD members but also a wide range of world-renowned speakers and experts in this field as lecturers for this year's conference.
The theme of this year's conference is "Beyond the norm". We are pleased to have three renowned dermatopathologists, Victor Prieto (The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center), Aleodor Andea (University of Michigan) and Tetsunori Kimura (Ackerman memorial Sapporo institute for Dermatopathology)
as keynote speakers, as well as a variety of key ASD members and experts in various fields. We are confident that the exciting program will provide participants with a truly beyond-the-norm experience.
We will also have a poster session and a free communication section, which will surely stimulate participants.
Organizing a meeting of this magnitude is very tough. I would like to thank ASD President Dr. Suat Hoon Tan and former President Dr. Yu-Hung Wu for their wisdom and guidance in meticulously planning the operation for this purpose. I would also like to thank the secretariats, Drs. Tomoko Oshimo, Hiroyuki Goto, and Hisayoshi Imanishi for their tremendous cooperation.
We hope you will have a fruitful and stimulating time at this special meeting.
Daisuke Tsuruta, President of the 5th ASD
