Greetings

The 62nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Allergy will be held at the Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) on October 4 and 5, 2025. Due to the venue availability, this year's conference will be held in October, one month earlier than in previous years.

The theme of this year's conference is “Wider, Deeper, and Higher!”
I will explain the thoughts behind the theme.

Allergic diseases develop in various organs, such as the skin, respiratory organs, and digestive organs, and the severity of the disease varies from mild to severe. They often involve multiple diseases, and there are a wide variety of exacerbating factors. In addition, they are often carried over into adulthood. For this reason, a wide range of knowledge and response capabilities are required in the clinical field.

Researchers are constantly discovering new knowledge to overcome these diseases. In the area of treatment, new therapeutic methods have been discovered, including the development of antibody drugs based on basic research, but there is still much more to be explored. On the other hand, antigen avoidance is still the basis of therapy, and immunotherapy should be recognized as an essential therapy and efforts should be made to determine its essence.

The most important piece is to provide such therapeutic advances to each patient in the best possible way and strive to improve their quality of life. Recently, shared decision-making has been emphasized as a process for determining treatment policies, and in order to achieve this,　I believe it is necessary to have a wide range of options.
